Carbon Trust Director of Projects Tours Canada (22/10/2009)

Dr. David Vincent, Director of Projects at the Carbon Trust, came to Canada on 16-23 October 2009. He did a Canada-wide tour and visited British Columbia (Vancouver), Alberta (Edmonton and Calgary), as well as Ontario (Toronto and Ottawa).

During his visit he met with officials from the federal and provincial governments as well as with business leaders, and representatives from key non-government organizations. He also spoke at two public events: a Sustainable Development Technology Canada Cleantech Summit and at a Breakfast event organised by the Economic Club of Canada

In his meetings, he advocated a transition to a low carbon economy and promoted the message that a rapid move to a low carbon society will be better for the economy than waiting to take action. He also promoted UK's experience and explained how the UK has benefited from this economic transformation already.

During his time in Canada, Dr. Vincent also produced two web blogs on his visit, and the role of the UK Carbon Trust.
