The investment arm of UK Trade & Investment is the part of British Government responsible for assisting overseas companies to set-up or expand their business operations in the UK quickly and easily. We are looking for an Investment Officer to join our highly motivated and successful team to promote the UK to Canadian Companies and seek out new business development opportunities. Applicants will be expected to:

• Advise senior business executives on procedures for set-up or expansion of business in the UK
• Identify and nurture new potential investment opportunities, 
• Research Canadian industry,
• Participate in trade shows and networking events, 
• Arrange and execute investor events,

The position demands:

• Strong networking skills,
• Comfortable with business development at a senior level, dealing with CEO’s.
• A proven business development track record,
• Excellent understanding of Canada-UK commercial relations.
• Computer literacy with specific knowledge of Microsoft Office & CRM
• Good organisational skills are essential. 
• A highly professional demeanour and ability to speak and write in clear succinct English.

This will be a permanent position, with salary of $56,419 plus benefits, starting at the end of December 2009 or January 2010.
